LETS PROTECT OUR ENDANGERED SPECIES

The environment is the surrounding that we live in daily. despites mans knowledge of the need to conserve the environment many of our people don't do so.

As a matter of urgency many of our species are geting distinct due to lack of breeding habitats. the need to conserve the environment is aclear indication of shaping the future generation so that we can generate more from tourism.

Lamas are species that need to be protected so that we keep them from geting distinct for our future generations.
The height of a full-grown, lama is between 1.7 meters and 1.8 meters tall at the top of the head. They can weigh between approximately 130 kilograms and 200 kilograms . At birth, a baby lama (called a cria) can weigh between 9.1 kilograms and 14 kilograms . Lamas are very social animals and like to live with other llamas as a herd. Overall, the fiber produced by a llama is very soft and is naturally lanolin free. Lamas are intelligent and can learn simple tasks after a few repetitions. When using a pack, llamas can carry about 25% to 30% of their body weight for several miles.

Llamas appear to have originated from the central plains of North America about 40 million years ago. They migrated to South America about 3 million years ago. By the end of the last ice age (10,000–12,000 years ago) camelids were extinct in North America.

As kenyans we should learn to protect endangered species by saying abig NO to poaching of wild animals.

GOAT EATING

The experience involved goat eating, and also being with our friends who we share the same day to day experience. we had to be more resourceful as we had to share certain features such as cutting of meat.

Also as we were releasing the exam tensions we were able to engage in playing of football, listening to the music as well as exchanging of ideas.

THE CASTLE EXPERIENCE

Mention exams and everybody gets busy. it was after exams that the students of fourth year mass media decided to celebrate their accomplishments.

the event took place at egerton castle on 31st July 2010 where we decided to have fun and be together before we part our ways come November this year.

Being at the castle was very exciting since we had the opportunity to play games, roast the goat and get a glimpse of the castle.

The castle lies on Ngata farm and its a serene place covered with buildings that were constructed by lord Egerton during 1930's.

The environment is very cool and its nice for relaxing as well as making life's most important decisions.

The castle contains old machines, drillers, and above all the lamas that are very rare species in our ecosystem.
As anew visitor to the castle one feels very privileged to be guided by the caretaker of the castle while he narrates the historical information about the existence of the castle.
